Asbestos Abatement

Many buildings contain asbestos, which was used in insulation in pipes, ceilings and flooring components, as well as inside technical ducts and structural panels. The production of asbestos containing materials was banned in1978, however, the ban allowed installers to use up remaining stocks, so structures built as late as 1986 can contain asbestos materials.

Depending on how and where asbestos was applied, it may pose hazards to building occupants, especially maintenance personnel who have to disrupt asbestos containing materials, walls, ceilings, and pipes as part of maintenance program. When asbestos is present it must be removed following stringent procedures led by professional EPA certified abatement supervisors. Our team has been involved in asbestos management/abatement projects from the United States Mint in Philadelphia to the Elmendorf Air Force Base in Alaska.
